Bug Tracker Migration

June 3rd
Good news everyone! The staff has decided that it is time to slowly kill off this Bug Tracker. We will begin the process of slowly migrating from this Bug Tracker over to our Github Issues which can be found here: https://github.com/HerculesWS/Hercules/issues

Over the next couple of days, I will be closing off any opportunity to create new reports. However, I still will keep the opportunity to reply to existing Bug Reports. Doing this will allow us to slowly fix any bug reports we have listed here so that we can easily migrate over to our Issue Tracker.

Update - June 7th 2015: Creating new bug posts has been disabled. Please use our https://github.com/HerculesWS/Hercules/issues tracker to post bugs. Users are still able to reply to existing bug posts.

Body Relocation + Sit = Cell Bug

Posted by Zirius on 07 January 2015 - 06:37 PM

I am using pre-RE

There seems to be 3 bugs arising from this, and all of them seems to be affecting on how the client perceive where the players's position are.
1. The caster's final position after using body relocate + sit is not getting updated to the client of the caster, but is getting updated to the others.
- The reason why the player in the video keep asking that he is getting detected by my Ruwach even though he is NOT where I am using the Ruwach

2. The caster's final position after using body relocate + sit is not getting updated to the other players, but is getting updated to the caster.
- The reason why the caster knows where should I use Ruwach instead of where I thought I have him in my screen

3. The final position of the caster who use body relocate + site is not getting updated to the caster and to the other players.
- The reason why (at the last part) when he casted asura on me, we both said "he jumped/flew", so we both perceive that he is not actually beside me.

The video can be downloaded here:

This bug seems to be well known on most private servers since a player from other private server told this to me. LOL. They are calling it "cell bug".

i suggest you upload the video via youtube, i don't think developers have time downloading your video.  I can verify this.  Its also happening in my server.

I can confirm the issue. If I'm not mistaken, last time while I was checking the IRC Logs, I've read something about the "Sit Bug" from Sir Haru. I think he knows about this bug.

this is very exploitable on WOE.
Monks using this will be immune to normal attacks not until the client reveals their actual position, also if the player keep using ground target skill on where they thought this monks are they would keep failing, not until they know they are actually beside them LOL.
haha, pesky monks.

It's just a visual glitch, if you refresh the real position should be displayed. The same happens when a character is moving and party-like skills are casted (gloria, magnificat). However: should we disable sitting in a short delay after Snap? How does aegis deal with it?

Disabling sitting in a short delay after body reloc is a good idea. However we should know the behavior in official too

lols..this is also bug in official...however the moment the caster walks his position updates..but in manner like he is resuming the body relocation effect...

oh, in this case, I hope hercules can have a feature where a setting can be made in /conf/battle/somewhere
where we can have a setting for how many millisecond before you can use /sit after using body relocate

or better update caster's location every time a player use /sit...

:meow:

It is very old bug.
You can just disable sitting on WoE/GvG/PvP locations.

That would be the worst possible workaround.

I've get some new information.

As I know, players using /sit packet  while monk using body relocaton from poing A to point B.

//0x5ae9 command ./sit
E95A0000000002
E95A0000000003

Also it can be abused using Box Of Gloom. Animation of Concentration skill overrides the animation of Body Relocation skill.

It seems we need to prevent use of this packets while monk using Body Relocation.
