Where are the functions that executes sql queries in source code?

For instance, the adding of item to the inventory table.

Where can I find the actual function that has the sql statements of adding the item to the inventory table?

Like, INSERT INTO inventory VALUES (item_id, item_name, etc...) <- where can I find this in the source code?
